Piloting

Aims of the work package: to disseminate the products and the outcomes of the project nationally, to develop a model for the training seminar to be transferred to countries outside the scope of this project, and to teacher training

Start: Preparations start 02/07 as the guidelines (work package 5) have been completed

Finish: Model developed and reported 09/07 as the project finishes

Partners involved: Heidelberg Pädagogische Hochschule and Jyväskylä Polytechnic (as direct partners), other partners as indirect partners
Input requirement: Preparations require 10 days of labour in both countries requiring mutual cooperation. The estimated cost of arrangements is 3500 euros in Germany and Finland-

In 05/ 2007 two pilot seminars will be arranged, one in Germany, the other in Finland. Based on the experiences and feedback of the pilot seminars, a model for the training seminars will be created. The target group for the pilot seminar in Finland are the language teachers of secondary vocational education and the teachers of polytechnic (VOLL / LSP teachers).

The primary target group in Germany for this seminar are the secondary education teachers as not every polytechnic offers language studies in their obligatory programme. Nevertheless, also language teachers of higher education will be invited to the pilot seminar. Resources for model seminar creation have been reserved both for Finland and Germany inside the costs estimated for the pilot seminar.
